Silver Crumb Tray by Superior Silver Co • Quadruple Silver Plated

Beautiful quadruple silver plated crumb tray by Superior Silver Company. It features an ornately decorated floral handle engraved with the initials T.W. This tray is in very good condition with no corrosion. Only some light surface scratches and tarnish which could be removed by cleaning/polishing.

Butlers or servers would brush debris from the tablecloth and collect it in the crumb tray. Originally, were usually made of copper, brass, or aluminum. Crumb trays were not made of silver until the 1840s.
