Vintage 1900 – 1960 MEDALLIC ART COMPANY medal created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the New York based company that has been the most important creator of medals in America.
The obverse shows a man in a chair inspecting a medal and the words, “MEDALLIC ART COMPANY 1900-1960.” The reverse shows a sculptor at work generating coins or medals and the text, “CRAFTSMANSHIP – INTEGRITY.” Artwork style and font on both sides give an ancient Roman/Greek feeling to the piece.
The piece is in overall good condition. There is some tarnish on the obverse, mostly around the man in the chair. There are some scratches on the reverse, mostly on the sculptor’s thigh and fingers.
