Original WWII German Officer’s Bayonet or Sword Knot/Troddel/Portepee

Infantry Regiment – Battalion 8 – Company 10

Very good condition and guaranteed original WWII German army dress bayonet or sword knot that features the color combination for Company 10 of an Infantry Regiment. Colors are strong and overall clean with a few minor stains. All weaving is nice and tight. Strap is free of tears or other damage. A very scarce WWII German army dress knot that will make a fine addition to your collection alone or use to complete your bayonet or sword.

This came from a very old collection, black light tested, it is a rare original.  It is guaranteed made before or during WWII.  It is unissued with the factory tie string.  The knot is in mint condition.

Condition Report:

  • Strap: (1) Excellent – Appears new, unopened and unused. Does not show any obvious signs of wear.
  • Slide: (2) Very Good – Under loop and scope, some wrinkles and possibly beginnings of some cracks along the braiding of the leather are visible. 
  • Stem: (2) Very Good – Vibrant golden yellow hue. Under loop and scope, weave appears to be in like new condition. One very light, approximately 1cm x 1cm, reddish stain is visible on the back of the weave.
  • Crown: (2) Very Good – Crisp white crown does not show and any deterioration of the materials.  One light brown/red stain is visible over two of the threads running about 2 cm.
  • Tassel: (1) Excellent – Appears new, unopened and unused. Does not show any obvious signs of wear.
